Accidental Tourism, a near miss

Last week we had a spontaneously wonderful jaunt around San Francisco, accidental tourism at its best. Yesterday it finally rained in the Bay Area and in a effort to do something fun and adventurous we headed back over to SF.

Our plan was to go to the Exploratorium which we haven’t been to since it reopened. It didn’t go as smoothly as expected…the Exploratorium was having a free admittance day, and we opted out of standing in a hugely long line in the cold and windy rain. Next stop ice skating at Yerba Buena Gardens? Nope, the rink was being used for a youth hockey game. Bowling? Not open yet. Movie? Nothing kid friendly. SFMoma? Closed during renovation.

By this time the boys were about done.

Ferry Building and Italian doughnuts to the rescue!

Phew, that was a near miss!

Those days can be the worst, or the best. Good save mama 😉

We’ve been doing accidental tourist days in Alameda recently. So much to discover over there.
