End of Summer

Today is our last day of summer. The boys both start school this week. Oliver will be in first grade and Henry will start preschool. It will be a big change for both of them, (Oliver will have homework!) but especially for Henry. This will be his first year in full time care. I’m sad that we won’t have our two days a week together, but I also know that he will love school. And it will save me a lot of time to drop them off and pick them up at the same place!

But for now we are making the most of summer. Since we got back from our NorthWesty trip we mainly have been laying low. We thought we might want to go camping again, but ended up staying close to home. The boys and I did some fun adventures: picnic at the botanic garden, the Tilden steam train, trips to the playground, and swim lessons!

But mainly we had lots of unstructured time at home. We played Legos and train set, did some baking and art projects, and had play time in the back yard. The boys have been really enjoying playing together (when they are not fighting), and it has been fun to watch them play and (sometimes) work together on projects together. I think they are going to miss this time, I know I will…
